ORIGINS

Founder, Alyssa-Cyre Oyadomari (she/her), is a diverse artist, performer, dancer, and instructor based in Seattle, Washington. Alyssa was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved to Seattle, WA in 2009. She is a mixed-raced, POC healing facilitator, and represents her Native Hawaiian, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino and Okinawan heritage with pride and honor through the many healing practices her ancestry holds. Inspired by the legacy and hardships of her ancestors, Alyssa founded Alyssium Stitches as a hobby turned passion for reclaiming ancestral arts, crafts, history and connection. Her outlet for creativity can be witnessed in her movement art, but also in wearable art she can share with others. She hopes that these endeavors offer a way to bring you beauty, healing and connection to nature, culture and Aloha~

We believe that an heirloom is

powerful, symbolic, and nostalgic.

When we create something of value, it becomes important to us.

We take great care of its survival and we honor it.

It becomes a treasure worth keeping in the family.

Then, after we have cherished it for a while,

we can pass it on.

At our center is the ha--our breath.

It is important to breathe new life into our treasured possessions and give them a second chance.

Below are a few well loved pieces that were repaired, mended, up-cycled and given a second life.

There is potent medicine to be witnessed, explored and shared with every piece of art.

Adorn yourself with this medicine proudly and may you find peace and power within it.
